The Millennium Promise

After a lot of research, we decided upon the Millennium Promise as the charity our company would support. We selected them beause they are working to eliminate extreme suffering worldwide that comes from living on less than $1 / day. This kind of poverty leads to a daily struggle just to survive. With starvation, disesease, and the search for clean water an ever-present concern, the extreme poor are in dire need of our help. Every day, 20,000 people die because of extreme poverty.

The number of extreme poor has actually been decreasing with each generation, and it is possible that we can solve this problem within our lifetime. The problem is far from easy, however, as there are about 1 billion people in our world today affected.

There are many charities working to help solve this problem. We chose the Millennium Promise because of their comprehensive approach. They have developed a combination of aid and education that will not only lift people out of extreme poverty, but get them to stand on their own and become self-sustaining after the initial assistance. The goal is to help get people onto the bottom rung of the development ladder, where they can then continue the ascent by themselves.

This approach is already underway in Africa in several countries and showing great signs of promise. Accordingly, we are contributing our charitable donations to helping villages in Tanzania.

How you can help

We are matching, dollar for dollar, all contributions made by our customers. During our checkout process, you will see a Millennium Promise banner and an opportunity to donate.
